As mine sooted up it became less tinny sounding if that makes sense... and I reckon it actually ended up getting louder with more of a bass tone... which is nice

Spoilt the car?? IMO the PECO exhaust transforms the car. You'll soon get used to the much better exhaust tone and performance and you will be getting many more admiring/jealous glances.

She'll be telling you that you don't need an ESM Everest chip next as it makes the car too fast. If I were you I'd take Paul's advice and show her who wears the trousers

Arrived yesterday with all the required rubbers, gaskets, bolts, clamps etc.

Date of delivery was about 4 days after the date of manufacture which is quite impressive service. Thanks Dave Jones!

Just fitted the Peco; here are my thoughts:

It sounds fantastic. Even better than the SS PM system but that might be simply down to the insertion of Stevo's stiffy, which I hadn't experienced before despite having been holding onto his stiffy for a while.

Fitting is dead easy. The inclusion of the new rubbers along with the flexible section and the intelligent choice of bend and union points makes it really simple to fit. I have always struggled with the rearmost hanger in the past, this time I removed it (1 x 13mm bolt in the boot!) and it transforms a nightmare job into a piece of cake.

Peco should weld the oval bracket onto the rear hanger the other way around (this has been mentioned before). This way, it would have the clamp bolt next to the wheel arch liner with effectively unlimited room. Currently it is right next to the boot and may make contact. I may modify mine.

The tailpipe looks great, it is understated and matches the stock shape nicely, just with a bit more size.

Can't comment on power yet as the car isn't taxed.

So, all in all, a top exhaust and good value.

That is one of my jobs for next Winter. I keep forgetting to tell Peco Dave though.

I personally think the tailpipe is a bit too big and it does occasionally hit the sides of the cutout. I've got myself a rather tasty replacement (another job for next Winter) which is a little bit smaller.

I've a custom exhaust tip being fabbed onto the custom-exhaust being fabbed at the mo' with me motorcar in the speed shop. I had to twist the guy's arm to do it. Hope it turns out well... so nothing further on it 'til I see it does!

No need. Quicksilver do an Exhaust system for the Elan.
It does not cause boost creep though. I can only assume that it does not allow exhaust gases to flow as easily.
