Worth a go... they might even sell the tooling... more likely to be bought in bulk (with any other stock) by one of the boy-racer exhaust outlets.

Anyone close by that can take a look at the premises for signs of life or some indication as to the administrators?

Maybe the right time to think about this??? :smt023 http://lotuselancentral.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11302
Strive for perfection in everything. (given time)
Take the best that exists & make it better. (given inclination)
If it doesn't exist, create it. (God did)
Ignore what I say. (good advice)

Its disappointing to hear that Peco are no longer trading - and I for one hope that a viable business can rise from the ashes.

In the meantime I need an exhaust system - please add me to the list.

Peco 'in Administration'

Postby Freelander » Wed 16.07.2008, 14:46

I have just spoken to the 'Administrator' for A&I Peco Acoustics (Peco).
He has referred me to his Agent and it is obvious that the company is in liquidation rather than administration. The Agent states that all outstanding orders have been completed but that there may be a residual stock of completed exhaust systems (suitable for SE Turbo).

I have agreed to forward details of the exhaust system and he will try to find whatever stock is available for disposal (sale). It is possible that low volume orders ie SE Turbo were made to order and no residual stock exists.

We will have a better chance of securing the available stock as a bulk purchase rather than individually, so if anyone other than those listed is interested - now is the time to make you interest known.

Obviously, we need to act quickly (by the end of the week).

9. Pinky - But it will have to depend on price with due regard to lack of waranty, or any return policy if the bits do not work exactly (as per Monty's concerns)

EDIT - to reflect the earlier list and my miss-timed posting over RIP :(

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Don't forget that there might be some screechers in there as well - can anyone else think of any good reasons to negotiate the price down.

I think Matt said earlier that there were 13 listed on eBay so with a bit of luck, there are at least 13 made up. Hopefully the more we offer to buy as a job lot, the bigger the discount. John, I've sent you a PM.

Well worth mentioning this Geoff as some people may not be aware of the problem.

As a "non-screecher" I'd just like to re-iterate what a good system (ie build quality/noise etc..) it is. Well worth having :smt023

A word of advice though to interested parties - if PECO is in the hands of the administrators/liquidators, be carefull regarding your payment. Only pay when you have taken receipt of the correct exhaust parts as your cheque may go into the general wind up/slush funds. I got stung many years ago when I put up £20 in advance for a Sinclair amplifier that never materialised :(

I was suggesting it more as a bargaining point.
