Hi

I did a deal with Peter Musgrove owner of PNM Engineering for cash at
£300 on the day at Donington, including delivery cost. He was asking about £370 but the grade of stainless steel is top quality from what I was informed and "Peco" are good quality products.

Paul you have made a great job of your JPS. Lotus. How much would it be worth if you come to sell it as it is a "one off" What insurance value have you put on it?

Thanks John, one thing ive found out about selling elans, is there only worth what you can get. Ive actually just changed to agreed value insurance for 11k.

I had a closer inspection of this exhaust today, & it looks very similar to the one thats being offered on ebay over the last few months, in fact it wouldn't surprise me if it wern't the same ?

Seen that Peco on saturday, but it`s nothing that hasn`t been done before. u can get one fitted for £300 to £400 at an Exhaust specialist for an SE :roll:

Can`t see how a dump valve would have an effect on the exhaust note

ps did u see the rust on the front suspension on the PNM M100 that was showing of the Hi-shite and the Peco :shock:

Oh yeah I noticed the rust. At first I did not realise the car was from PNM and thought it was an individuals car who was showing off the excellent condition, especially with the mirror at the back for looking under the car. I think I would of left the wheel ON!

cant believe after you saw mine and tested the peformance increase and the sound that you went for one more expensive that you have to fit yourself....
£275 fitted 2.25" top grade stainles (460 IIRC) no squish.....
but hey if you wanna pay more and fit it yourself thats your choice I suppose!!

Hi.

Thats what attracted it me to it. The tail pipe looks great and fills in the oval shape. Nice picture Also Hazel grove is near than Macclesfield and Kevin will fit for me. Did you sort out the Cam Angle Sensor problem?

£275 was custom made, without the squish and fitted as I explained last time.....youve paid £300 for a system and I bet the fitting will be £100......
anyway thought you were 'painting'......

Exhaust tailpipe did look very nice but it was the inner one on view that ruins it IMHO

looks like they made em with round tail pipes until someone said 'could we have oval please?'.......ah just weld one over the top they'll never know the difference!!!

The reason for the inner tail is to bring the exhaust gas to the end without upsetting the flow and creating a turbulance in the tail.
If you prefer not to have the inner tail then that's no problem, or if you prefer a different tail pipe we have a large selection to choose from.

Definitely the same exhaust being offered on ebay, called Cybox, even the pics are the same. On ebay they are being sold at £325 & when i emailed them, they said they would fit it for that price !. Must admit it don't sound to bad ?

Might I add a life-learned-lesson? The pipe is stainless & holds up well, but the welds are just steel & I assure you the welds will rust quicky. While you still have the system off the car tape off around the welds and spray several coats of high-temp paint (as close a colour to the stainless as possible) on the welds to keep your whole exhaust looking nice.

just like to point out that the welds on our stainless systems are stainless and will not rust.
the only mild steel part on our system is the flange, the reason for this is that stainless flanges are prone to cracking.

Also like to say that this system does fit an S2 and it will still pass the MOT emission test providing your pre-cat is in working order.
