Front Undertray

Postby cliff » Thu 16.06.2011, 22:54

Does anyone have a picture of how this is fitted?

I bought one from SJS (SJ100B0002) and maybe I am having a blond moment but I cannot see how it is bolted at the rear. Every thread I found about this has said that it is held on by 4 bolts but the parts guide (1201A) refers to 8 x M6 setscrews but only 4 captive nuts. I can see where the captive nuts go at the front but there are no holes anywhere else. Incidently the SJS part looks a bit different to the item in the parts guide but the size is more or less ok.

Any advice gratefully received

There's two types, ones made up of pieces( the early cars) and one big piece for the later cars.

If no ones post anything else I look into it over the weekend.

And you've got an SJ's part, not a Lotus one.

Thanks Specky.

I bought the big piece one from here, (http://www.sjsportscars.co.uk/) can't extract the picture but I will take one tomorrow.

Parts guide shows this.

Attached pics of the SJ undertray as fixed to my car. Hope these help.

The fit is pretty good, though if I was laying them up in glass fibre I would have put the mould side (smooth side) down!!

Thanks Andy, that clears it up nicely. There are some small pilot holes in the tray so opening them out will make it fit.

I agree, why hide the smooth bit? Maybe that's what threw me in the first place.

Many thanks to all

Ive got the SJ undertray to fit to JUFs do the cut outs on the front (Like fingers)fit under the bumper lip or over? The holes drilled in my SJ tray seem to be 1 inch too far forward have you any more photos of your fitment to your car please?

The cuouts are to clear the screws for the rubber lip. The front edge goes on top of the "shelf" on the bumper.
