Selfknowledge is a beautiful thing.
No accidents yet, but i would be interested in the "how to" In case i left my keys in the trunk...
With me, these things to happen are just a matter of time

Unfortunately it doesn't work for the S2, so don't do it!

I have replaced the barrel of the lock using the exact match and key number from Vauxhall. The barrel is from a Viva, Mark 2 Astra or VX220 fuel cap. Cost £30.
Please post on the forum, hope it helps."
I don't suppose anybody has a GM part number for this 'Viva, Mark 2 Astra or VX220 fuel cap' barrel - as all S2 lock parts are now out of supply from Lotus it is likely that more and more people will be needing to trace non-Lotus lock barrels as time goes by. As Lotus built the VX220, why can't they stock the barrel for us....?

I am about to find out if the replacement locks I purchased will fit, the key is the same as the ignition all be it mine is a N/A, so would be the same as an SE. If I have it worked out correctly then I should end up with one key for the ignition, the doors and boot. May take a look at the glove box but not too worried about that one. This should also be the same type of locks as fitted to the S2, Nova/astra MKII.
Cost of 3 locks with the key matched to my ignition key, just sent a picture of the ignition key, was £60.00 or £20.00 a lock + 2 keys.
My intention is to start with the boot as I have a newly painted boot and spoiler to fit tomorrow, so I'll take some pictures and post my results.
