Floor mats slipping? Solution.

Hey everybody. I've been getting really pissed off at my floormats because they are always sliding forward. I know I'm not the only one.

I looked on-line, and there are a couple of clips available to cure this. One is called "mat loc." You can get them here if you want.

I was at work, and noticed some little clips up on a cubicle wall that looked amazingly like one of the brand of floor mat clips I saw (ones that are at amazon.com, but not available). So, for a cheap alternative to the mat-loc clips, and one I didn't have to wait for delivery of, I took a couple of those clips and put them on my driver's side mat. So far, and it's only been one day, they are holding the mat firmly in place.

You can get these clips, or ones like them at any office supply store. (I did this because the floor mat clips aren't sold in any of the auto supply stores in my area.)

I managed to get hold of some genuine Lotus ones. They are quite firm and fit properly. The shape of the footwell helps to keep them in plae quite well.

I have put some more thought into this. Because the footwell is flat and angles into the walls instead of curving, it may be possible to cut a bit of plywood to shape and stick some carpet to it. Should stay in place quite nicely then!
