Just had my seats recoloured!

Hi all,
Just undertaken a mini project on my seats. I used a company called furniture clinic they travel to you and carry out the work. The cost to redo the colouring in the seats and the door cards was £240. They do sell a kit to enable you to do it yourself for around £60. I got them to do it just for oiece of mind and a guarantee!!

Below are pics of the seats before the work was carried out and during their stripping back to remove previous dyes and dirt. They were pretty awful!

This process took about 2 hours and an old electric toothbrush (nothing but the best for my girl!) was used to get the dirt out of all the seams. Once this was completed the seats were given a light sand with 320 grit paper ready for the colour to be sprayed on. Results in next post

The next stage was to spray light coats of the colour in very small areas and dry with a hairdryer. It was important at this time not to allow any dirt or moisture to come into contact witht the seats. Any runs, dirt or moisture meant stripping back the affected area and then just respraying. This process took about 2 and a half hours. Once each part of the seat was finsished the 1st layer of sealant was sprayed on. Then 2 layers of sealant with hardner were applied to produce the finished article.

As you can see a complete transformation and so far so good, although the weather has been shocking since having it done so not driven it much. However they have been out in a light drizzle and no problems as yet.....
