euro steering wheel

does anybody know if the european steering wheel will replace the federal airbag wheel directly or is there messing around that has to happen?

If you mean a non airbag wheel then the short answer is yes,I have had mine on for over a year now and it makes the world of difference. You will need to shave the tab off the bottom of the hub but thats it (and remove the bulb from the SIR light on the dash) The hub splines are identical, and they are also the same as the Esprit.

Are you speaking of the stock Euro Elan wheel of the same vintage?

yep an elan se wheel. i dont want an elise wheel. happy with the uk wheel. so a little machining eh? were they all black?

I have one which is black, and i switch between another which is black with alcantra (sp) i believe this one was euro Elise?

The SE steering wheel is more of a really really dark brown.

As another option you could use the N/A steering wheel. At first impression it looks identical, but it's plastic coated as oppossed to leather. It's such a close match to the SE wheel I don't think any Laymen would notice.

Here's the N/A wheel. (No grubby leather stitching, shrinkage or fading)

Are you sure the leather wheel is really dark brown? Or is it just 20 years of skin oils and dirt soaked into the leather??? Oh, and I suppose you've cornered the market on N/A wheels and are now offering them at a reasonable price, right?

This is the Euro elise wheel, i like it more than the euro M100 wheel i had on as its smaller (in the pic it looks huge but it feels like a go cart wheel) Whats a Euro m100 wheel worth to you? (as i have two )

Technically, black is a lack of all colours with white being all colours combined.

Which is why white is the best colour for an Elan...............
