Heater Temp Dash Control Knob

Postby roy666 » Sun 05.01.2014, 15:45

Hi All - HNY. Can someone tell me how to get to the back of the Dash Heater Rotary Control Knob? Every time I try and push the control knob back on its black spigot, the spigot pushes into the dash face and almost disappears.. I can grip it with a pair of pliers and pull it back out. Actually, the spigot (black rod bit) is very stiff... and i believe this operates a connecting rod which shuts the air flaps to reduce the heat to the cabin. All the way off operates the micro-switch which closes the vacum valve to shut of the coolant from the engine... have i got that right? I have the storage tray off and I'm now an expert at the 'Lotus position'!! I'm just trying to put the whole back together. Any pointers would be really useful. Thanks

In my quest for answers every single thread helped. Good luck.
