Instrument panel Perspex cover disassembly?

Folks,

I've got my instrument panel disassembled, and I'm wondering if anyone has successfully separated the clear Perspex instrument cover from the black plastic bezel?

I would like to give the inside of the Perspex cover a good clean and polish, and if these parts can be separated without damage, it would be a lot easier than poking rags and tools through the black bezel!

Anyone had any luck with this, and if so what method did you use?

I dismantled mine several years ago so, yes, it does come apart, sadly I can't confirm how but it can't have been hard if a dunce like me could do it, doesn't it just clip together?

I have a spare instrument cluster and will check mine out later to see if the perspex can be easily removed. Cars are stacked in front of the garage at present so access not easy

Not sure how far you want to dismantle it all, but the front perspex with the black plastic lip just clips onto the instrument panel with 4 lugs (just ease them off and lift away) - then I haven't gone any further to try and remove the perspex from the lip, so can't help with the bonding between them.

As with all things, I'm sure it could be done, but I've never tried to seperate the 2 parts (and never needed to try).

Thanks for the replies - I've got the instrument cluster apart, but the Perspex cover is bonded to the black plastic part, and if there is a way of separating this bond with low odds of damaging either part, I'd consider it.

However, it may be best to clean it up as an assembly and be done with it since they are NLA.
