...nor me - except I don't want a 100 degree fan switch (apparently!) - I do remember putting my name down for one many, many years ago, but nowt ever happened..... I can't remember who was organising that GB though (It definitely weren't me!)

Holy thread resurrection picking up some s2000 seats this week and ordered the parts to install as dapinky method Dave have you had any issues with the install over time

No problems to report. The seats haven't fallen out, are still secure, and move as and when required - I can't think of anything that I would do differently if I were to fit another set (but that doesn't mean that there couldn't be improvements found - just that I have yet to notice them).

Thanks for the prompt reply Dave well i got the passenger seat out with a fight one bolt sheared, one of the outer ones so no problem there, luckily one of the captive bolts required a long breaker bar and a lot of cursing even now the bolt is still stuck in the spacer on the seat bracket the driver seat has been out before so no problem removing that one My circular saw is at the ready for the aluminum plate

HI Tony - I did this job a few weeks ago following Dave's excellent guide and confirm that it's spot on - the only thing I did differently was to tap the alloy plates to fix the mounting bolts in position when I'd got the final location down.

I fitted the SLK seats with AirScarf but I'm yet to feel the warmth from the seats or from the airscarf eh Martin

I'm currently looking at SLK seats, was the seating height altered much?

Think I read somewhere on here the SLK seats were higher than originals but I could be wrong, I was looking at the time to replace some RX8 ones I had in my car so viewed most of the previous topics on this subject.

I went for black seats from an MX5 Mk2.5 in mine fitted in a similar manner to mentioned on here but using steel plates 6" at the rear and 4" at the front both around 18" long and wide enough to allow adjustment on where the seat frame bolts fitted and still get enough movement.

Simple enough job to mark the Lotus floor fix points and drill bit more of a nuisance to get the seat location correct to allow the movement I wanted backwards and to be able to miss the floor bolts but all done and great fit with a lot more rearward movement than my old RX8 seats which used to hit the B Pillar and lower allowing more room under the steering wheel which was the reason I wanted to swop them out the RX8 seats had a wide upper bolster which used to prevent movement rearward for leg room and were thicker in the base so you sat higher, think the SLK ones (or those I looked at) had a wide shoulder bolster similar to my old ones so why I didn't go for them.

Taken the plung & bought some SLK R71 seats for £80, need to manufacture a decent adaptor plate now. Oh no, ruining the originality I hear you cry, this little car is so modified I think that boat sailed a long time ago.
