Is anyone able to verify with absolute certainty (ie by experience) that the cavalier mk3 glove box latch/lock available from this supplier actually fits and works in an elan?

Yes Robert, I have the Cavalier Mk3 lock fitted to my car and it's worked well for several years.

Yep, i bought one based on Rons recommendation, works great, you have the option of one or two keys as well.
