car stereo + cd changer

Hi,

I was lucky to get an original clarion radio + cd changer, the one that was listed in the Lotus pricelist for the M100.

Does anyone know where the cd-changer was original fitted from Lotus?

The CD player was not a factory fit item. There is absolutely no mention of it in the electrical workshop manual.

I would think it was therefore a dealer fit item, which could be anywhere! The boot would probably be the preferred option.

It's one of those questions with no obvious answer - as no cars ever left the factory with the multichanger fitted.

That said, many years ago I was at Hethel (60th anniversary event) when they were selling off a lot of stuff, and the table included a few of the multichangers.... no-one wanted them as they were obsolete tech by then, and when we asked about the fitment we were told that dealers put them on the left side of the boot as that was typically the dryest area of the car!

+1 - mine was there too until I got rid of it when the head unit lost all its display

Yep, mine is on the left side of the boot at the top above the wheelarch.
