Aluminum Door Pulls and Handles - Who's Interested

Postby Elanlover » Tue 01.04.2008, 21:27

In an effort to avoid upsetting Sy any further  by posting more on this subject in his CF Escutcheon thread, I thought I'd start a new post as per the above subject.

Whether or not you are thinking about CF escutcheons I think replacing the plastic door handle and rubbery door pull with a nice, custom design part by F1 Lotus (of Wilwood brake kit fame) would make a nice little visual upgrade to the interior of the Elan. Probably would look fabulous mated to the CF escutcheons too.

chrisP did some not too long ago and you can see the results in this thread. I quite liked them when I first saw them and though that, coupled with a aluminum door handle (the one inside the escutcheon), they'd look fabulous. In reviewing that post it seems that a number of you showed an interest in such a part so if you still think you'd like some, sign up here. There is no comittment required at this time. We're only trying to assess interest level to see if further work is warranted. I appreciate that cost will be a consideration in any final decision once that's been determined.

I would certainly be interested in the door handles, I made a mould but only ever made one cast of it and have never had a chance to retry. You could save me some work there :D

Hope the project goes well
