Always liked these style of seats and managed to find a set at a good price on friday,managed to install them today,fairly straightforward but time consuming,had to make four pieces for each seat from flatbar as pictured which then lined up with the original holes.
It was not possible to swap the runners as the s2k ones are integral to the seat construction,the way i have bolted them is rock solid,doesnt look out of place,seats slide perfectly,no issues with clearance,in fact the base is not quite as wide as the original seats so they dont even touch the centre console,roof folds no problem and the shoulder bolster has about 25mm clearance with the door shut.
I think they update the interior just nicely,but would be interested to hear the general consensus

They are suited well to the Elan I think. I have watched a few on eBay recently, they seem easily available.

Here is a view from the back of the car with the roof down.
If anyone wants to fit these to their Elan i can make up the full set of brackets supplied with the right bolts,a couple have to be shimmed down on the head in order for the handle on the runners to pass when moving the seat back and forward.
All four brackets are a different size to fit each respective hole on the floorpan .

Wow, I really like the look. I don't mind the look of the M100 seats per se but I don't find them especially comfortable. Here in Colorado, I've always pondered getting heated and cooled seats in a convertible.

What's the weight of the stock M100 seats?

with another forum member I decided it was likely to be too
much fiddling around with an uncertain outcome.
You have now convinced me that this is definately the way to go.
There is a pair of red seats just a couple of hundred yards from
where I work which they will sell for £300.00.
Not sure about red seats in a red car.
Please can you make up a set of fitting brackets for me. I will pm you.

A right and proper job, IMHO. They look like they belong in the car - so much so, I might consider this route when my seatbottoms eventually give way under my sadly prodigious bulk.

Well test fitted mine yesterday made up mounting brackets from 6mm thick rolled cold steel used stainless A2 nuts and bolts (not sure if they are suitable but hope someone on here will let me know if not) would like to lower them slightly and have proper made up mounts made rather than my attempt.

I have just bought a pair from a 2005 car that had only done 8500 miles AND they are grey with red centre panels and headrests, so will look perfect in my red 1992 SE.
Will post some pictures when they are fitted.

Just an update on the seats,ive used the Elan a fair bit of late and i must say the seats are far more comfy on a longer run than the originals,
so a worthwhile upgrade and not just for aesthetics .
