Anyone here used the retrim service at Hethel??

Always fancied the S2 magnolia leather trim & was wondering if anyone had had any experience of the factory service.

there's info in here somewhere all about it. See Sy's Stripey II thread for his retrim. There's a handful of owners here who have used it, and from what I have seen (pics) and read here thay are ALL pleased with the outcome.

I think I got the last bit of magnolia leather

they may have to grow some more magnolia cows :-D

The people at the trim shop are great to deal with though.

Rob, i had whitey re-leathered at the factory, seats, door cards, handbrake & gearlever gaiter & steering wheel. It took them a while, but it was a superb job. Some pics for you :-................& i will be having Blacky done there !

Black seats, with gold centre panel, gold piping, JPS Team Lotus logo in headrest with laurel, if it comes out like it is in my head, it should look really good ?

I had the oatmeal interior trim on my black 74 JPS Elan +2 130/5.
Always thought it looked the dog's do dah's.

I wouldn't dream of classing you with Gerome, but I'm struggling with the idea of a Black and Gold interior. Woody makes a good point, the JPS Plus 2 and Europas had an oatmeal interior which looked particularly good with the black and gold (spotter fact No 1 - the later JPS F1 cars, after the Type 72 were not black and gold anyway. The pinstriping and script was oatmeal rather than gold because it showed up better and looked more like gold in photographs). The Senna car at Stoneleigh (Type 97?) was Black and oatmeal).

Just thinking Sy's done the classic Green and Yellow, you're doing JPS anyone doing a Red and White Gold Leaf car?

Nige, don't suppose you have any pics do you ?, my inspiration, if thats what you call it, comes from the JPS Commemerative Esprit. Although there seats are totally different, it gives a bit of an idea. If you look in the pic, they have gold alacantra in the centre panel & headrest, which i think is to much & i wasn't proposing having it on the headrest, although if they do a gold piping, i was thinking of just having the seats all black with gold piping & the logo in the headrest. Can't say ive thought of the Oatmeal interior, but i do like it in the old +2's !. I was going to go down to the lotus trim department with a few ideas & see what the women there thought, should think theve done most sort of things, but i'm open to any ideas ?

Think thats the way u should go, to much gold would look tacky IMHO

Pics of what, the interior of a JPS Plus 2 or Europa or of the oatmeal pinstriping on the F1 cars? I think I can do both if I look in my collection of books etc but give me a pointer about what to scan.
