A question about gear knob

Postby JMP » Tue 22.09.2015, 16:51

Hello there !

I wanted to share with you my last find on ebay : a NOS gear knob, being pointed out that those are no longer available at Lotus Cars, just as too many obsolete parts.

Here is the before/after sequence. We all know how to remove it, unbolting the knob anti-clockwise once the small screw at the bottom is made loose with an allen key:

I have one question about it :

The old one had the picture of the gears printed on the leather (almost impossible to read now).

The spare part I was lucky to find (for 48USD + shipment) has a different embossed feature, which should last longer.

Does someone know when it was introduced in the production ? Was it for the S2 ?

ALL of the following part numbers were superseded by A100F6062F:

A100F6050F
A100F6061F
A100V6062F

There is no history indicated as to when the changes occurred, but they probably went in that sequence.
Parts Guide V.2 shows part number A100F6062F with a designation of B3 for the model change.
