This Blaupunkt range does look good for the correct period look. I just received a 'Milano' model but the connector on my previous stereo dosent fit it. Ive just had to order an iso lead and will need to joint it into the loom now. Job for the weekend

Yeah. Basically convert the car-side to ISO.
A couple of hours of fun, but then you can plugin about every radio you fancy

Folks, please don't don't think this is a 'mine's bigger than yours' moment but I've found a modern DAB/DAB+ radio with USB/phone/whatever-you-like etc that isn't 'blingy. It looks quite retro and matches the dash illumination perfectly.

It has an easily detachable face-plate if you worry that the purists are feeling 'gouty' at a show. It's quite short (since there's no cassette; the USB is under the arrowed flap on the rhs) so it's easy to fit into the limited space and (imo) very good v-f-m.

Yes, of course, why would we want ICE (with the hood down with 'our' exhausts)? - But I've sometimes listened to radio + USB topless whilst 'er indoors' is in the supermarket - and it's also a good listen with the hood up (very rare!)

It's a Pioneer MVH-S420DAB with a cheapy eBay amplified splitter plugged behind the set so I can use the original aerial. I don't get any signal loss. Just sharing...

Plus the option of phone connectivity (it's supplied with a discrete mike) - might be appreciated by those whose life could be meaningless without...

The main reason i liked this Blaupunkt range is due to the relatively large buttons that don't take more than a second to find and the matt black finish. My current Kenwood has the smallest and fiddliest buttons and a glossy faceplate that seems to always be masked by reflections. The Blaupunkts also offer hands free (might not be much use but ill find out) USB and Bluetooth.
Theres still a lot of choice out there for single DIN stereos and everyone will like something different. I like e to retro look and easy to use features of this... But then i am an old duffer.
