LHD brake master cylinder, how can I find one?

Postby kmckmc » Fri 29.03.2019, 15:09

Hi,

I have a LHD M100.
I understood that LHD brake master cylinder is different from the RHD one.

So, what is this LHD brake master cylinder’s alternative part number?

Thank you.

According to the v6 parts guide, the master cylinder for the LHD models is Lotus P/N A100J6082S. See Section 33.03A. page 1, Item 5.

The Steel version of the UK Brake Master Cylinder is PMF172. It was used in several Opel cars.

It has a slightly smaller bore which makes the "feel" a little bit better.

See this posting: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=22781&start=100#p287227

The LHD car uses only 3 of the 4 ports, so you need to plug the extra one.

I found a brake bleeder (BS10514) for a "WORKHORSE - DELIVERY TRUCK/MOTOR HOME Chassis" that is the correct 12mm X1.00 thread.
They are only available in a package of 10.... I have a few of these in the shop.
