GAZ coilovers

Postby m100sandra » Wed 07.08.2019, 22:10

Curious if anyone is using GAZ coilovers? I had Nitrons fitted on my previous Elan and found them great on nice smooth A roads but horrible on bumpy B roads, I’ve heard that the GAZ units mimic the standard suspension with the added benefit of damping adjustability and ride height.
Really interested in feedback from anyone who has them fitted on there Elan..... Good or Bad. Thanks

Hi,
While it doesn't answer you question (sorry!), could you elaborate a bit on your Nitron ownership? Are they really that hard on a B road? I would have thought the dual rate (?) spring showed on the photos provide a bit of softness on small bumps?

What was your setup? Fast road or club sport?

A friend of min had a GAZ set on his M100. He was not particulary pleased with it, especially on track, and he was always amazed about the suspension when he drove my M100 8)
That said: His car was front ended once (quite heavy) so there could be a gazilion more causes, but he insisted that the GAZ setup was rubbish.
