Do you think this is a problem as the lines could rotate if the suspension works?

As to the cones... I had meant the kind of cones themselves: inner or outer. I don´t know the specific technical term of it, perhaps the picture could clear this more:

I don´t know whether our layout is the same in this point (regardless, that it wouldn´t make sense, that kia has choosen different ones - but who knows  ). So, do you know which kind of cones the lines have to fit the fixed pipes?

Don

Are you saying you have a Kia Elan?
In which case I have no idea what they had fitted
The hoses in the picture has ends that are different to Lotus Elan.
The ends on brake pipes are either concave or convex and the hose in the picture have one of each e.g. one end is convex while the other is concave.
The hose in the picture also have a P clip in the middle.

Bob, yes, its all for the blacksheap-Elan ;) The attached lines are from my VX not from the Elan and should only explain the different types as you have recognized them with "concave" and "convex" (Sorry I have forgotten to mention it yesterday  ). Could you please tell me how the different ends of your offered lines are if they are: banjos on the one side and concave or convex on the others?

P-Clip: Yeah :-D

The ends on the hoses are the same as the standard Elan and fit the bracket on the chassis and the fixed pipe work. So you have a M10 x 1 concave fitting on one end and a 10mm banjo on the other.

as we could only find it out in the hard way -again  - could you please take me on the list? I will try it and perhaps some more will follow.

I would love a set of carbon-lookalike :smt007

Thanks in advance

I've fitted my set of these hoses and can confirm that all is well. The centre mount is not as snug in the bracket & clip as the original line, but then my original was pretty well corroded in.

One thing I will say is that, as with all the other replacement hoses, you MUST make TOTALLY SURE that the lines don't rub against the inside of the wheel once fitted, as they're somewhat more inclined to loop outwards than the originals. You can't check this with the car up on stands or jack as the weight of the car must be on the wheel for the suspension components to be in the right positions. You'll need a lift, pit, ramp, etc to get in there, wind to full lock and back both ways and check that the lines are well clear of the moving parts. I'm really serious here, I've checked twice since installing and I'll be checking again as they settle into position, the NS hose was perilously close to the wheel when I first checked...
