front lower wishbone (TCA)

Postby bobbrown » Tue 08.09.2009, 16:38

As there has been some debate on these and there appears to be no progress on any one else getting these made and as mine are looking a little suspect I have made some enquires with a local precision sheet metal company in conjunction with the company that made the hubs for the machining part of the job.
I have the options to either make them of stainless steel or mild steel and get them hot dipped galvanised if made of mild steel and then final machining to clear out all the galvanising and ensure that all the holes are square and dimensionally correct.
I am sorting out a price but as we all know it is numbers dependant so if you are interested stick you name down

I have a target price in mind and that is around the £100.00 or £220.00 with all the bushes and ball joint fitted each side.

bob
have you got the bush details?....
if so do you want to let me have them and I'll see what I can do....I had the ones for the rears made and thought it might be good to approach the same company to see if they can give us a reasonable price.......if its not then we can look else where :)
cheers

I'll make one thing clear here I will not supply these with polyurethane bushes as in my opinion they are not a substitute for the rubber bushes.
Having said that I do not want to get into a lengthy debate on the subject suffice to say the polyurethane bushes are not bonded to the inner or outer steel tubes and there for negate the way the torsion bushes are supposed to work
If you want to fit polyurethane bushes then that is down to the individual and they will have to source and fit themselves.

This thread is for who is interested in the front lower wishbone not a debate on bushes!
