What is Kermit wearing ?!

Postby simonbuk » Sun 30.07.2017, 12:20

So what is Kermit wearing on the front end ? I know they are Protec dampers but what are the springs ?

I've recently bought some new front springs but they are black.

Definitely Protech shocks - they use standard Lotus springs, but that's not to say that something else hasn't been fitted at some time.....

.... maybe just a coat of paint or powdercoat on OE springs???

Look like a factory finish on them so not hand painted. Good to hear Protect use standard springs, might get these rebuilt as a have a new pair of front springs and the S2 has not very old Protects and springs on the rear. At least it keeps things nearly the same !

Highly unlikely ... galvanization is a zinc coating onto steel that gives a silvery finish that is corrosion resistant so not usually painted. They look more like OE steel ones that have been looked after well.
