Just reporting on my experience of my mods. Mixed driving used to get about 33MPG now get approx 27. At Castle Combe it would be sub 20. Goes fast though  :D

Don't entirely agree. If you've got an SE running open loop, going to a closed loop everest should make a decent improvement to cruising MPG.

I agree with both of you :-D
Closed-loop will be better for cruising (ESM has explained very nicely earlier in this thread why an open-loop system is not adjusted ideally).
When you first install an Everest, the extra power is addictive: you'll be on boost more often because it's more fun than before. You'll then be using fuel faster than before.
Once the novelty has worn off & you go for a cruise down the motorway, a closed-loop everest will give you better economy than an open-loop standard ECU.

HiSpec do a conversion but there has been a lot of issues with the cylinders leaking. I've not followed that issue though.
If you just want to upgrade the pads, then the choice in the UK is limited. There is a better choice in the US. Look in the parts cross-reference section for a thread call 'brake pads'. You should find some helpful info there.

You also asked about suspension. As usual, there is more than 1 option. I believe there is a thread about replacing the standard set-up with something similar. I believe some have also upgraded with Avo adjustables.
Just under 2 years ago, a Nitron kit was introduced with options for stiffness, although at over £1000, this is expensive. The road setup (which I have) has flattened cornering without making the ride any more harsh.

I have just fitted an Everest chip to my S2 - massive difference with no other adjustment. I have also upgraded Dampers and springs from SJ's - not sure I have all the levels right yet as only finished this yesterday. Have some HiSpecs on order from Bob so will get them fitted soon. The price for AP racing fronts on SJ's is old - when I got the quote back they had gone up to around £1800!

Hoping to get some views and advice of suspension set up on Sunday....

I installed the Switcher yesterday evening.
Most time consuming was the routing of the cable between Switcher and ECU. All in all it took me an hour of slow and relaxed work.
This is by far one of the easiest tasks I have done so far on the Elan.

Alan, where on earth did you find a remote switching unit that looks and fits so OEM in one of the switch bays of our little cars?
It almost looks if Lotus was involved designing this kit. Good work!

I'll be back with my first impressions as soon as the Piper downpipe is modified an back where it should be :-)

Hi HJ,
I think it is time you were told that in Scotland at least, chips do not come in bags.
Chips always come in a poke. :D

A poke is usually a folded paper container.
Apart from chips which always come in a poke, the principal thing which comes in a poke is .................a pig!

How that works is that a "pig in a poke" is something with little value and certainly less value than you hoped or paid for.
So if you buy something which turns out to be less than a bargain, it may be referred to as a pig in a poke.
The English language is great, even when spoken in scotland!
I'm sorry to have subjected you to this, but a bag of chips just struck me as wrong!
