Here`s some Photo`s which will hopfully help those are going to do the same upgrade
1st thing 1st,
You need to have the 4 ARP studs for the Adaptor plate to Manifold cut down to 32mm ( i had an engineering place do this)
You need Copper Xs Hi Temp RTV Silicone Instant Gasket to seal the adaptor plate to manifold as there`s no gasket for this. (got mine from ebay)
I fitted the other gaskets dry
The metal Oil return pipe from the stock turbo needs to be reused but 1st the bolt holes need Enlongating to fit the Garrett Turbo
Also the Rubber Oil Return hose needs replacing as the stock one will be to short.
You`ll also need to remove the PAS belt and remove the PAS pump and push to oneside to get to one of the Manifold studs;
Remove the complete Dipstick and bracket amd also the Engine lift bracket
You can remove the old turbo still attached to the Manifold but to do this the Maniflold studs need to completely removed, i used a 1/4" spanner to crack the open and then used a small socket (if there`s room)
Once you get to this stage
Then you can fit the Adaptor plate to manifold
Next step is to fit the turbo to the manifold using the gasket. Note the cut down bolts and now can get a 10mm rachet spanner to 3 of them and the other i used a standard spanner
at this point you can fit the outlet adaptor pipe that sits under the turbo, i did also try fitting the oil return pipe and the rear inlet cooling line but it`s not possible to fit in one go so had to remove them again
Test fit, Note the position of the bolts for the downpipe
Next i left the manifold detatched to help with attaching the rear water line, but i had to grind down a 19mm ring spanner to get to the bahjo bolt (see photo) once the banjo bolt is tightned up then you can slip in the manifold gasket and bolt down the manifold. At this point i would get under the car and fit the metal oil return pipe as it`s a bit tight in there, once done you can reattach the wastegate arm.
Note the routing of the water line from underneath, you can also see the metal oil return pipe and Maries discharge pipe that goes to the intercooler
Next, attach the oil adaptor to the top of the turbo using PTFE tape, then attach the oil line (hand tight) route the line down and fit to the banjo to the oil feed on the block, once happy with the routing tighten the top oil connection. Note in the picture the new longer rubber oil return pipe
The Final water line can be fitted (the one with the 90 degree elbow)
Note the routing and you can also see the Discharge pipe to intercooler.
Then it`s just a case of fitting the other bit`s ie downpipe, replace PAS pump and belt, dip stick, pipe to the airbox etc quite straight forward.
Huge thanks to
