Fed missing hose - any luck?

Postby tigerdog » Sun 22.05.2011, 05:07

Hi James! If you're still following this thread, I thought I'd ask if Samco ever managed to create a replacement for the odd double-kink lower Rad hose that's missing from the Fed Samco kit. It's the only hose I haven't replaced and I'm still looking for an alternative. Please give us an update if you can.

Do you mean the on from the right radiator to water pump and also filler tank? That came in my kit.

The lower left one that is a very short 90 type wasn't included.

Yes, it's the short "double-90" that was missing before. Apparently they are still not available. I'm wondering if a simple 90 would work if combined with a reshaped metal coupling hose. I'm nervous as this is the only hose I have not replaced and thus the one that's going to bite me when I least expect it.

Hi

I have been in touch with James at Amber Performance and the hoses are still for sale at £300 including P & P and they still offer a 20% discount to LEC members.

I found a short hose that worked on my car as a replacement for the missing hose.
I got it from Napa, $12.
I'll get the number and post it.
It actually worked better than the stock on, cleared the plated behind the radiator.

napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=NBH9511_0317515521

Hose #9511

I used it with the Samco upper part and the stock bent tube (assuming mine was stock).
Lots of room to make it work well on my car.

Mark

Note, this is on a Federal car left radiator hose.

Thanks for looking it up.

Could someone put it in the Wiki for parts?

I found a PCV valve today that fit perfectly also, no listing, but they had one on the shelf.
I'll get the number.

I think the Wiki is locked now?

My research shows the PCV to be a FRAM FV340; Standard Motor V409; Delco CV938C These are STRAIGHT fitting types.
They fit Isuzu I-Mark, Impulse, Stylus from 1990 - 1991. Also GEO Storm GSI, DOHC

Not having looked at mine directly, there is a 90 deg version. Fram FV239; Standard Motor V293; Delco CV938C
This fits a lot of models like Fords, Kia, Mazda after 1992 but includes the GEO Storm Single Cam 1990 - 1993

Most likely the straight version is correct as that is what they show in the Parts Guide.

Just want to let you all know that the latest group buy for Belgium and Holland went over Amber.
Customer service is a complete disaster, issues are being handled by Samco directly.

My advice, for what it' worth, try demon tweeks.
They drive Lotus cup U.K., sponsor the lotusforums, ...
My experience with Demon Tweeks is very positive.

Just my 2 cents.
Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary… that’s what gets you.

Dear All:

Earlier this summer, I was contacted my Samco customer service. They need to get in touch with those M100 owners in the US who puchased the silicone induction hose kit. If you bought one of those sets, please let me know so I can get back to Samco.

Sincerely,

Algirdas
