Honestly, who is asking John to stop helping our group? This is getting ridiculous. The other thread shows how many of us appreciate his hard work.

Samco now supplies the correct upper hose in their US/Federal hose set (I sent them a new one as a sample). No need to cobble their previous attempt anymore.
The Federal hose set is DIFFERENT from the other LHD hose sets, so order that only if you have a FEDERAL car.
The US/Federal radiator is mounted at a diagonal slope vs the others being mounted vertically.
For those with their earlier Federal kits, you can order just that one hose from James at Amber Performance and thus have a complete set.

Just DON'T order the FEDERAL version as they won't fit the European/ROW LHD models. The early Coolex Radiator fits the UK/ROW cars as originally offered. They now have a properly modified radiator for the FEDERAL model too.
I still have the one in the spare fed chassis that I used to help them understand what didn't fit. If anyone has an early Coolex radiator in their FED car and want it to fit correctly, for a fair cost, I can make up a set of adapters that will get it much closer.

I was in contact with James last week. He says there is no LEC discount at the minute but will probably be starting a group buy soon.

Waiting with interest as I have a slight rad weep and it would make sense to replace hoses at the same time

Amber's direct buy price is lower than their eBay price. Just call James. He will work with you.
I believe the S2 used more individual hoses vs the SE that had a few "branch" hoses.

Cheers for that . Did think it was a bit top heavy on price .

These are the hoses I got in my set (nearly 10 years ago - how time flies).....
samcoredhoses.jpg
from the links you supplied, the only difference I can see in the pictures is a short metal joining pipe..... i believe that either set will work (as they never originally specified a seperate kit for the SE & S2 models), but I may be out of date, and things have changed over the years......

The photo wasn't mine - I believe it was a member from somewhere East of here, but can't remember who (Michael????)....
.... anyway, the ellusive hose #1839 is the thick bit 'T' section at the top of #1838 - it comes (came?) as a joined part from Amber....
(at the time there was much wondering of what the missing part was, as Samco didn't use the same part numbers as Lotus - until some bright spark actually looked at the hoses and saw that the Samco numbers were embossed in the silicone and it was found)

I hope they sent me the right one. I told them that about my European model, is there anyway to understand if it's the right one? I'm waiting for courier right now.
