Geoff, didn't you mention your pantry was stuffed to overflowing with Bacardi 151?

That logo looks like its "cut out" of the hose so to speak. Should I be nervous that the hoe would be weakened there and possibly spring a leak????

Blair, I think it's more of a 'brand' (impression; think cattle) whilst the hose is still hot. I only don't like it because when you are cleaning your rag & dirt get caught in it. Think I'll just take the 'alcohol' route. Geoff, pass the 151.

I'm sure you're right and I doubt Samco would make something that didn't stand up to normal useage. Still, I can't help think that if there ever was a pressure failure and leak it would be in that stamp where it would occur. That's just the paranoia speaking out though :smt119

Does British "white spirit" = US "ethanol" / "ethyl alcohol" / 190 proof booze? I thought it was a petroleum-based solvent of some sort. At any rate, what is the safest way of removing Samco's white marking?

Stoddard solvent? The safest way of removing Samco's white marking would obviously be at source (i.e. don't print it), but it would appear that the customer is never right in Samco's view, so this potential customer isn't buying as my S2 hoses are just fine. Please feel free to convey my displeasure James and sorry you're not getting a sale in these financially challenging times.

to be totally honest i dont much like the new "classic black" myself, but hey i dont make the colours, i just sell what they have !!

i have got a sample from samco with a logo, and you can quite easliy scrub the white logo off, and leave the feintist of black logos on the black hose.

thats the best way we are goint to get round the issue of having nice shiny hoses with little or no logo showing.

i will try and post a pic of my efforts tommorrow.

cheers

i just used some fairy liquid and a scourer. the only problem with using a scourer was it left the hose not quite as shiny, so something less abrasive would be better.

Hi everyone....after a bit of help here.......

.... I ordered a set of red samcos and they arrived last week, just in time to fit everything for Castle Combe whilst the turbo is going back on, coil packs, leads etc....

part way through the job, I realised that 2 hoses were missing from the set :(

I contacted James at Amber, and he has asked for the part numbers of the ones I have, so he can work out the ones I need.....

...however, as I have now fitted most of them, they ain't easy to get the numbers from.

Does anyone still have a set in stock that they havent fitted?

If so, can you I'D the 2 hoses from the below picture, and provide the Samco part number?????
