I went with a slightly higher wall on my old wheel, made the drive feel so much smoother!

Still trying to sell the old s1 alloys with these nearly new tyres on them!
any interest?
Blue_Bullet wrote:I can see what you are saying but i think you are Wrong as they Did not rub on my Arches, however I have tried 17" TSW's with low profiles they did do this!
They did give a much smoother ride and made the speedo more accurate!
As for the geometry you could be correct, but I cant see it makes any difference from having S2 wheels ie 16" or federals on because they were then matched in size! possibly not weight though, I was not that sad to weigh them!
The car felt good, drove and cornered just as well and I didn't have a massive gap between the Tyre and arch anymore!!!
So there ! lol
Anyway I have sold them to surfboardfiller now and i'm sure he will back me up on this!

However, I would think the handling would have to be affected by a tire with a .85 inch larger radius. Probably not noticably for normal street driving though. I wouldn't think that difference in diameter would make them rub in the wheel arches, though, but I could be wrong there.

Thanks

I have yokohamas....others have michelin.....others dunlop, pirelli, etc etc etc.....
I dont think grip in a single condition is an issue as road tyres have to cope with wet, dry, snow, etc etc etc.....so your tyre has to be a good allrounder.....
I think its got to be down to personal choice and your budget.....
cheap end of the range is usually about £35......to the top end at about £135.....
I think its your choice........
