European Source for Fuel Injectors

Postby ratman » Fri 04.11.2011, 11:40

Hello,
I would buy a brand new set of standard, low impedance, fuel injectors.

Do anybody has an European source?

thanks!

Check with Luka, he is braking an Elan in Italy & may still have these (use) injectors.

ciao,
thanks for your advice,
I already spoke with Luca, but he doesn't want to disassemble the engine right now!

RC will supply from USA $355 + shipping.
RC injectors
I did find a UK supplier but they were much more expensive

I had mine stripped, cleaned (ultrasonic) and rebuilt for £50 + postage.

It took them 2 days and i got a full report on the performance when they arrived, and when they had finished - it showed a good 6% improvement in fuel flow, and more importantly all 4 were equal.

When re-fitted, the car idled much better and seemed smoother all the way up the rev range.

I'm sure there are places on the mainland who would provide such a service.

If not, I have a set of injectors on my spare engine which i would want to keep (long term) but would be happy to get them similarly cleaned by the same people and sent over to you. You can then fit them and send me your old ones back (plus the cost of the cleaning ;-) ) - or i'm sure that you could remove and send them yours, but it would just keep you on the road if you wished to use my other ones (unless you put it away for winter anyway!).
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually.....

go on - click this link - you know you want to!

Thanks to all for your help!
To be honest, I did not tell all the story.
I would like to source new injectors for my car but first of all I would like to help a guy to run his Elan again. The car is waiting for new injectors since a year because:
The ones bought from Lotus were wrong (!!), as they where high impedance
The one bought from RC never arrived and it seemed impossible to find a solution with them

That's why I was searching for an European source for stock fuel injectors. If the source will be good I'll buy a set for me as well...

I want to refurb my fuel injectors. Think they are the original ones.
Does it worth refurb them? Do you put them directly into water in an ultrasonic cleaner?
Or would i do best buy some new ones? Wich one of RC do I have to buy? Does the fuel injector sold on www.rockauto.com for the Isuzu Impulse are the same? And wich ref is the correct one (there are several ref.)?

Thanx

The fuel injectors sold by Rock Auto are only for the NA, non-turbo engine. Even though they list them under the Turbo model, they are WRONG!

RC Engineering's replacement for the stock injector is part number PL2-320 (Peak and Hold, bosch connector, 320 cc/min). http://www.rceng.com

RC also cleans injectors and it is very affordable: http://www.rceng.com/Fuel-Injector-Cleaning-P43C0.aspx

UPDATE

RECENTLY, Rock Auto has added listings for the "4 WHEEL/ALL WHEEL DRIVE" model #4MF1559 (package of 4) and MF1559 (package of 1) . These are correct for the TURBO M100.

Rock Auto have marked some as "Except 4 WHEEL/ALL WHEEL DRIVE" or not given a specific model designation. Those are for the NA version car WITHOUT a Turbo.

The injectors for my M100 were plugged up and two could not be salvaged. I bought a full set of new stock lotus injectors from Dave Bean in California about a year ago. They were expensive, I dickered the price down to about $125 usd each. I know Cal isn't in euorpe  but thought I'd throw that out anyway.

Rock Auto's new listing for the 4wd Isusu Impulse is the best deal around. There is also a guy selling injectors on eBay but his are $159.00 for 4 before postage while Rock Auto's are $135.16 for the SET of 4 before postage.

I just ordered these for $32.99ea, so the price seems to have actually dropped a tiny bit. The part number is MFI 559.

on Rock Auto I cannot find MF1559 but in the 4wd Impulse there are these STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS FJ559 {#17089116, 8170866110, 8171027250} Intermotor - does anyone know if these are the correct ones?

Yes, They are the correct low impedance injectors.

The MFI 559 are long gone

Have you looked at eBay item 191637275013 ?

Remember it is the Isuzu Impulse RS that is turbo charged and usually they are listed as for the 4wd version.

Excuse the thread-o-mancy but I used https://www.fuelperformance.co.uk/ to buy RC Engineering PL2-320 (Bosch style top) injectors for my Elan.
They're not listed on the site but Duane was able to order them in.
