recirculating coolant pump

Postby texas2201 » Sat 20.09.2014, 14:36

Mine had given up the ghost and it meant I had to leave the engine running while it cooled down - or it would vent through the expansion tank :-(

replacement was £00s from Lotus and only slightly less from other suppliers - so had a look on ebay and the Merc SLK recirculating pump looked very similar :-) £20 plus postage you say.........................OK I'll try it

Only thing you need is the plug from the loom from the original car and splice it onto the Lotus plug - hey presto it works great :-) Happy Bunny now

Any SLK? Do you know which model or year?

Does it have a reference number which might be cross referenced to other Mercs?

Bought my Merc pump from Amazon, a bit more expensive but does come with the plug. More importantly, the page lists a load of other Mercs that use the same pump. :)

Note that because of the plug, the pump sits 2 inches nearer to the center of the car.

Cheers Cliff - when I did a search on the site it did not bring up that thread - it would have saved me some time if I had found that first - could the mods put it in the Wiki?
