Rear Wheels Bearings

Postby algirdas » Wed 13.09.2006, 05:14

Dear All:

Generic information about rear wheels bearings. Received from a local parts warehouse. Has not been verified as true and correct.

Rear Wheel; Inner {Cone Length=0.42” Bore=1.1417” Outer Diameter=1.98” Width=0.56 StoundOut=0.14” Cup Length=0.42” Cone Radius=1.14”}

Rear Wheel; Outer {Cone Length=0.42” Bore=0.6875” Outer Diameter=1.57” Width=0.545 StoundOut=0.125” Cup Length=0.42” Cone Radius=1.046”}

With this information you can go to a local bearing house and get bearings for a fraction of what an auto dealer/parts dealer would charge.

Sincerely,

Algirdas

Has anybody found an alternative to the Lotus bearings?

I'm in need of one and being able to get one off the shelf, tomorrow would be very helpful.

Ta, Steve.

I needed one for my MOT and used the Jetta one mentioned on this thread. I sourced it from a local motor accessories shop in Blackpool.

Dico,
I bought one of these bearings last week, had it fitted this morning and they are indeed the correct ones.

I'll be grabbing another for the L/H as a spare too!

Well won 2 sets, so i thought i`d ask about getting the postage cheaper. Here`s his reply :evil:

no each item is of 3.90 p&p it also covers time at the post office and entry fees to ebay an closing fees to pay pal so now that i have explained that i expect payment as per invioce sent .i hve sold dozens of these mostly in pairs and never had any request like your as all my customers apprieciate the bargain they are getting not trying to be rude but each item is clearly discribed and clearly priced p&p

so slap me silly for asking a daft question :roll:

Monty, i had a similar ecperiencd with him.

I simply asked if he'd received my money and that the parcel was on it's way. I was told to " Give me a chance..mate"

No problem with the bearing at all, just not the best people skills.

There's another guy selling them too, he's got 10 kits.

Well i bit my tounge and just paid and asked him to leave me a feedback as i`ve paid. This is his reply

i only leave feedback once the buyer recieves the item and confirms it is the item that is in discription and leaves positive feedback

:evil:

now this has to be against ebay rules, if anyone else is going to order these bearings try and order them from the other listings as he doesn`t deserve our business.

BTW i think i`ll wait till the end of the 90 days then leave him a s**t feedback

Can anyone who has used the VW bearing kit please confirm that the oil seal supplied is also useable on the Elan.

Thanks, Paul

John has just posted the GM number for the seal on another thread.

GM 90217059 (he's not sure if the first digit is correct though but it is off an astra / corsa)
