uprating the clutch

My clutch is starting to feel a little off and i wanted to give it a little bit more grip. i have read alot of threads and think a heavier duty pressure plate may well be the way forward, where would i find such an item?

This is a daily car, but i do have a heavy right foot (upto legal speeds), but i dont want to sacrifice (much) smoothness. so if you think theres a better alternative please let me know.

Matt, reading peoples experiences on here ( especially Dico & Sy's ) they have tried the uprated clutch & it doesn't make for a pleasant drive on the normal road. Many people have the everest chip fitted ( approx 200bhp ) & are running with standard clutch & no problems, so my advise ( for what its worth ? ), is to replace with standard & don't forget to renew thrust bearings whilst your at it.

i did see the comments on 6 puck clutches, and various other ideas, but i think it was dave m (forgive me if im wrong) that suggested a havier duty pressure plate, would maintain similar properties to the standard setup but with a little more grip, which sounded ideal. (again if i miss enterprited anything apollogies)

Thats weird i`ve just won a clutch of ebay today, actually used a sniper bid but put the wrong amount and ended up wining it lol. Anyways won it for £118.55 just got to get a clutch bearing for a complete kit.

Pinky runs at 206bhp (maybe a bit more now ) and i did 9 trackdays last year on the stock clutch without any problems.

Since you need to change the clutch at some point the question is how much is the clutch kit from lotus?

i nearly sniped that clutch, glad i didnt now. wanted to make sure i got the right things before i paid out. thanks for the advice guys looks like rockautos have some cash heading thier way.
