Tony, i`ve put some links here viewtopic.php?f=48&t=16523&p=218873#p218873

Think you might be better of with a full face clutch ie not the puck type, IIRC David JT had one from the USA but paid quite a few £££££££££ for it

I contacted Dave JT ( Dave Tasker ) and he says he has not bought a clutch.

Maybe I got wrong DAVE JT

Yep

its David not dave  lol

anyways he`s replied on the other thread viewtopic.php?f=48&t=16523

The link Bob gave on the other thread has an Aasco flywheel listed, some of the members have this fitted and would be the one i`d go for if i had the money.

The only thing it doesn`t say if it fits the turbo version :? seems a good price though

I put the AASCO flywheel and a 6-puck clutch in a couple of years ago. It is heavier and much more on/off, i.e. snatchy. It took a long time (with the low mileage I do) to bed in, but now, probably 2000 miles later, is quite nice. Before this it was a bit of a pain. If I do it again I will go more towards the 'street' and of the spectrum, perhaps full-face.

I've the same set up as Candles and covered nearly 6000 miles since, however my clutch is as tricky to control now as it was when first fitted.
If a group buy was to be arranged for a more manageable clutch that could cope with 300bhp ish I would be in on it.

Hi Anthony,

I've finally got some news for you!

I can confirm that the company willing to make these products will be Helix.

The kit will include clutch plate and cover. Its a paddle clutch plate made from a Cerimetalic composite. This is a stronger composite than what is used in Organic items. You would typically find this type of clutch plate in competition vehicles. They have also identified a problem with the original cover plate. Apparently, if they do a direct equivalent the cover will not be strong enough to cope with the torque (common problem on the Elan). The cover that they are willing to do for this application will be redesigned and reinforced to cope.

Prices:-

Clutch Plate Paddle #165+VAT (2-3weeks)
Clutch Cover #210+VAT (3-4weeks)
Light weight Flywheel #300+VAT (3-4 weeks)

If you require any of these components, Helix have advised a turn around time of approximately 3-4 weeks.

Fingers crossed Anthony, this is all the information that your in need of. Just let me know as and when and we'll get it all sorted.

Regards
Adam,
