Changed gearbox oil tightened nuts

Postby Tannerman » Sun 22.08.2010, 20:16

Hi guys i changed my gearbox oil today and it went really well.

First i took out the speedo drive but i couldn't get to the nut even with the extension bars so i cut a 10mm spanner in half and it worked a treat, the drive came out with a little tease so i removed the end plate and tightened those nuts.

One of the nuts was just over finger tight so i tightened them up to the correct setting and gasket sealed the end plate.

I used a piece of garden hose to refill the gearbox and this also worked a treat, I ran some oil through to clean it first then put a small funnel on the end and shoved the other in the large gearbox hole.

Never spilt a drop and job done....Arms look a bit like i am a junkie from all of the rubbing but we got there :-D
