overboost & clutch :(

Had a days hoon on the mountain passes here yesterday, a couple of times we got stuck behind some really slow gits who wouldn't move over and the car got hot, this seemed to make the clutch slip, and then it smelt for the rest of the day, is this normal or is the clutch on the way out?? (it seems ok now)

Overboost - again when hot I lost .25 of boost (so was only going upto .5 on the guage) then driving home there was a bang, felt like I hit somthing, but didn't, and the turbo is going mad now, going to full 1 bar then engine warning coming on etc its also going a bit mental, going up really really quickly and then when you ease up on the loud pedal it cuts out again in the blink of an eye. I'm not really sure whats normal as it had the cat issue when I bought it.

so why am I getting overboost now? other cat gone? some pipe off? some of the old cat was still stuck in the pipe and is clear now??

I've had a look and can't see anything obvious, although the exhaust pipe is rattling when cold now (didn't before the hoon)

Anyway did 5 swiss passes, the car was excellent, kept up nicely with a Gallardo, 911 turbo and ferrari scuderia and had to stop for fuel less then them

Sounds like the clutch is on it's way out - keep an eye on it.
Also you may need to do a wastegate wiggle. Or the pipe going from the wastegate actuator to the boost solenoid valve may have popped off, giving you unrestricted boost.

just checked all the hoses etc and all are ok, think it must be the exhaust blowing?
