A new gearstick unit sold today on eBay for £60 odd quid which seems a reasonable price to me; the seller may have a job lot as he is now advertising yet another one.
He claims (in the description) that
"If your M100 Élan gearshift is all sloppy chances are the pivots and Nylon bushes in the gearshift assembly are very worn. The bushes are not available separately from Lotus so a new assembly is a must."Whilst, again, I wouldn't disagree with either his assessment of the condition (when I changed my gear cables recently I noticed how much play there was in the bearings!) or his claim that the bushings are unavailable from Lotus nevertheless can anyone advise if the bushings are available from elsewhere?
I have acquired a replacement gear lever from Mr Pinky

but had wondered if the old one can be refurbished.

He is correct saying there are no more available from Lotus but they sold off for £17.02 on an early Aftersales list, so not a bad profit for holding on to a few for future sales.
The internal bushing is not available from any source I could find and it is not nylon or similar soft material I think it might be a urethane casting. The two sides are different from each other and I have read of some swapping sides to get a better fit, the notches don't line up with the shift lever positions if you do.
