I have reached the last of the raw cables and assembly parts for the cable kits and they are ready to assemble.

If I decide to make any more after this, the price will have to increase since I can not afford to finance another large order of the assembly parts needed or meet the current minimum order quantity for the cables which will unfortunately increase the kit's price. Having to order things in 20 to 30 piece minimums which then take around a year to sell has only made money for the credit card companies I used to pay for everything.

The price for the kits has remained reasonably steady with exception of the physical cable supplier raising their price almost every time I ordered more - even though I increased the size of the orders to meet their volume discount plan, there was always an excuse as to why my cost kept going up. The only other increases were due to the increases in the USPS shipping charges.

I could have downgraded the specifications for the cables and other components, but that would have resulted in a product that was no better than the originals, so why waste my time or anyone's money?

I really enjoyed designing and offering these kits but it is years later and I am still fighting my leukemia so I am trying to stabilize my family life. It is also time for me to reassemble my M100 project - I expect it out of the paint shop in another week - and also need to start to reassemble the wreck I bought from Steve M. I doubt there will be much extra cash available as I try to find replacements for parts I removed years ago thinking I could re-use them and now see that I will need/want better than what I have.

Follow the link below for pricing and other information regarding the cable kits and I hope everyone has another great year of driving their M100s.

Yes, I have a few kits assembled and could be shipped in a day or two.

Is it easy/hard? That depends on your DIY skills. It is more frustrating than hard since you need to feed the cables through the chassis, out into the engine bay and around to the gearbox.

That is easier if there ate two people working together, one in the car and one under the car or reaching into the engine bay behind the intake manifolds.

It also requires taking apart the interior enough to get to the shifter and the chassis tunnel.

I am sending you a PM.

I can thoroughly recommend Brit Car Nut's short shift and cables; makes a big difference to driving the car. My local garage fitted them for me and they took 3 hours and charged £121 including VAT. They aren't Lotus specialists so that may give you a good idea how much your mechanics should be charging you. They said the job was quite straightforward with no problems.

Just to keep the details close to the end of the postings:

There are 8 sets left!

When this batch is gone, there won't be any more mass produced.
The costs have gone too high to order/buy in bulk and then wait many months between sales.

I might still do single kits but the price will be much higher and delivery time much longer.

The current prices:

The current pricing is: $460.00 for the cable set: fully assembled, pre-fit and adjusted and $135.00 for the Short-Shift Kit.

A web LINK will be provided to the heavily detailed installation guides

Prices WITH Postage is:
$460.00 + $40.00 Shipping is $500.00 For US Cables Only
$595.00 + $40.00 Shipping is $635.00 for US Cables and Short-Shift Kit

$460.00 + $74.00 Shipping is $534.00 for UK/Europe Cables Only
$595.00 + $90.00 Shipping is $685.00 for UK/Europe Cables and Short-Shift Kit

The prices assume you will be paying using PayPal's Friends/Family option. If not, you will need to add 4% to cover PayPal's retail fees.

My PayPal ID is john (AT) lotusm100 (DOT) com.

The "Retail" price for these is much higher, so asking your repair shop to buy a set for you only increases your final cost.

Also, most repair shops don't want to add the Short-Shift kit (to keep their outlay as low as possible), so it is most prudent for LEC members to buy directly from me to get the best price for the cable and short-shift kits.
