Tie Rod

It can be difficult to find the tie rod for M100. I was lucky to find a used in good condition for M100. However, I have done some "Research" and found out that Renault Megane might suit. Does anyone have experience with this or have other tie rod that fits? M100 and Megane tie rod are not identical but have the same length 270 mm and M14x1.5 threads at both ends. I have some pictures, but have trouble viewing them on this page.
I bought Megane tie rod by Euro Car Parts with part no. 600745295 (also Renault Scenic)

Here I had had stated TWR JAR992 (fits Vauxhall and Fiat) as a tie rod with the right Dimensions. I ordered a TWR JAR992 but it is unfortunately not correct. The TWR JAR992 I got is about 40 mm longer than the original tie rod for M100. In the datasheet the length is 269 mm, but this seems to be wrong. However, it seems that the one I mentioned above to Renault may be an ok substitute.

I also require a replacement tie rod , lots out there with similar measurements and most likely will fit but wonder if anyone has found exact replacement.

Hi All

New to the Forum. I've owned my Elan for nearly 2 years.

I had an advisory on last year's MoT on play in the inner tie rods. Went down the same dead end on finding a suitable replacement part via Lotus suppliers. I followed this thread and checked out dimensions on a suitable replacement. I've sourced a Renault Clio tie rod and fitted them with the rack in situ with no real issue. £24 for the pair delivered. Well pleased:

MAPCO 19194 Inner Tie Rod M14 x 1.5mm thread each end 258mm overall length. Renault Clio car & van 1998 - 2016 with PAS:

The rod is widely available from different parts suppliers via OE brands also should you wish to choose that route.

Tie rod is shorter than the items fitted to my car but work well as my car hard far too much toe in when I checked it. No peen flange on this part. I used thread locker as an alternative.

Apologies if I'm late to the party on this and a source is widely known. I will keep the forum posted on durability and any service issues.
