After various threats of not affording a new hood, new brakes etc she hasn't caused me a problem over the past 2 days!

I think she just likes to play games, such a tease!

Anyhow, I'm going to be waiting for problems to start again but for now sigh relief and put my wallet away. I just don't get it. But then again I may be posting this too soon!

Seriously, if it pops out again try putting it in by hand. If you reach down past the header tank just beside those nuts you will find the lever. Just wiggle it into place. If it stays in you should be fine, just a little nut tightening should finish the job.

I had a similar problem. It would sometimes pop (actually jump out of gear with a violent bang) when taking off from stopped. Once it got moving I never had a problem unless I took it out of first then went to first again. It started after I had the cables replaced. Presuming it was the cables I had the dealer take another look at them, then played with them myself then had a second dealer take a look at the problem. He suggested I start looking for a new transmission. I solved the problem with a replacement transmission from a wrecked M100. This was my first attempt at importing parts directly from England to the USA and it went well. The cost of air freight kind of surprised me though.
