Which Gearbox oil.... again!!

Sorry, I know this one has been round a few times..... but....

I'm looking to get some Redline Gearbox oil to see if it will improve my shifting, as others have found.
What I can't figure out is which one to get for. I asked redline and got told:

just check what grade and viscosity is recommended for your
particular car- if it needs an 80 weight you need Red Line MTL- if it needs a 90 weight you need MT90 which is the heavier grade of the same product.

From reading around I think most people are using the MTL product but a there seem to be alot of references to 90 weight.

Reading through the descriptions on Redlines productpage I'd lean towards the 90 weight as being the correct one
Anyone advise on their opinion of which is likely to make more difference to a dodgy shift?

Just put in Silkolene Pro SRG75 (75W90 GL4) it has helped with the problematic third gear change, so an improvement over the Castrol TAF-X, Quaife recommend this grade of Silkolene for there diffs.I also stroked the sump plug with a strong magnate to magnetize it, to collect any metal particles that are suspended in the oil up to the next service

I have used Redline Heavy Shockproof for a couple of years, and it works very well.

Castrol seem to have discontinued TAF-X, which is a bit annoying as i have still got a litre. I can`t get Silkolene easily where i am, any other suggestions as to a suitable trans. oil ? Is SMX - S 75W-85 / API GL1-4 suitable ? Halfords stock this.

Another vote for Silkolene Pro SRG75 (75W90 GL4) from me. You can order it online or phone from opieoils (see website)

Works well (so far!)

I recently bought ENEOS Premium Multi Gear 75W/90 from japarts (off the web)

It's a GL-5 spec and it seems fine in the Honda snotter.

I'm sure it would be fine in the Elan ..

I am interested in getting some Redline MT-90 both for the Lotus and the MR2. Does anyone else need any as I can get it down to £11.50 a bottle. Can hand deliver in Welwyn Garden City, hatfield, Southgate, Bedford area.

All I need is another 3 or 4 owners needing fluid! Not looking at making a profit but helps save a few £'s

I have seem to have acquired the third gear crunch when changing quickly up from 2nd at 4000 rpm+. A slightly slower change will not cause the crunch. I would like to 'change' my gearbox oil to the Silkolene as two posters have stated an improvement/elimination of this crunch. However, searching for the recommended Silkolene Pro SRG75 (75W90 GL4) I find only Silkolene Pro SRG75 75W (not suitable for hypoid gears - us?) or Silkolene 75W90 on the http://www.opieoils.co.uk website. Could Muley or M100 Two identify which, exactly, they bought (what does it say on the label?). Thanks
