TCC (torque converter clutch) solenoid ? on manual

Do our manual elans have a similar TCC (torque converter clutch) solenoid ?

When i finally get the car idling while revving high... putting the car in gear ... feels like it drops my power, rpms drop, engine stalls in afew seconds... not sure if something is locking up. could the TCC (torque converter clutch) solenoid or similar be the problem?

and if so... how to check and were to look?

It's a normal clutch.

Would the engine carry on running if you left it alone?

Does the engine revs drop to a standstill just by depressing the clutch?

If so, what mileage has it done?

59K miles on car.

in neutral and clutch in, it revs when pressing on gas.

when i put down clutch and put in gear 1st or rev... and slowly left off clutch and pussing gas all the way down... car loosed power, rpms drop and will finally die out.

thats weird to me..

I may be best to get it ticking over properly first ... Then check if operating the clutch effects the revs.

What you're describing is what you’d get if the brakes were seized on

When did it last run properly and what’s changed since?

it used to run fine last year. had the car garaged and never ran it since. i first noted the engine light. error code 41. replaced with new cas. but still the same issue.

one issue - starting issue - i have noticed when the car sits for a few hrs... when i go start it, it keeps idle when i push down the gas. when i let it die and try to restart... it doesn't.... so i have to let it sit for awhile.
.... What causes this issue?

2nd issue - stalling out in gear - for those time i do get it started, when putting it in 1st or rev (only gears i can get it to so far) the care wants to die out. step by step. i rev up the rpm to keep it steady, push down clutch, does not affect hte rpms much. put the car in gear 1st /rev, slowing let off cluth. car tries to move a bit, but rpm keeps wanting to drop when i let go of clutch... the whole time i have gas pedal down.

Brakes are fine i think. cause i can get it slowing moving in rev at times when i play around with the pedals.

NOt sure if fuel filter, fuel injkectors, cylinders nor working can cuase these symptoms.

Sat for a year? Could the answer be as simple as bad fuel? If the car has been parked for a year, there's a very good chance the gasoline has gone bad; maybe condensation/water in the tank or just the normal breakdown of fuel over time. If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest draining the tank and refilling with fresh new fuel.

Sounds like it's the clutch that needs adjusting? Also if the battery has been completely flat or dissconected then the ECU will need to re tune its self, as it wipes the self tune memory without power. The car should self tune best at 30 mph once you have got it going.

Push the car out of gear to see if the brakes are siezed.

I'd reccomend a sood service.

I agree that old fuel is not good but I think it's the clutch that needs checking.
