The Elan and the Impulse RS use the same engine and the clutches are compatible.

However, Bill has stopped doing Isuzu stuff (not profitable enough) and so you might not be able to buy it from him. You can ask him - he has a lovely sunny disposition
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to sit on your arse with a blank look on your face.

Yes, I've heard the transmission referred to as the "Isuzu 78mm" and is shared among all cars listed. If you're in the market for a clutch kit, do a search on Clutch Specialties in this section. Last I knew they were still in business and make a great set up for our car. Plus, they are infinitely better at customer service than the aforementioned gent.

Lovely sunny disposition...LOL. I needed that this morning. 8)

I'd stay away from a 4-puck disc and go with either a heavy duty organic solid or a 6-puck style. The 4-puck will have great grip, but tends to stutter. Also, consider a heavier sprung pressure palte. The stock unit I think is around 1200#. I'm using an 1800# unit now and it does require a bit more effort on the clutch level, but nothing that should bother your leg. Clutch Specialties also had a 1400# I believe.

If you can't get ahold of CS, try Unorthodox Racing. Seems they also have a kit for our car.

The clutches for the elan and impulse RS are the same, I also got an aluminum flywheel for my RS, as well as an upgraded organic clutch and a higher poundage pressure plate. It is a bit stiffer and grabs much quicker than stock, but it frees up a bit of HP and makes the engine rev easier with the alluminum flywheel. I think the flywheel is half as heavy as the stock one.

You can I think find lots of neat stuff for you isuzu engine here: http://robietherobot.com/storm/products.htm

Not my site, but Robie is a super nice guy and very know how DIY type of guy. He even lists some stuff for the Elan, I personally have the wires and plugs he sells on my impulse and they work great!
