vibrating clutch pedal

Anybody had trouble with vibration through the clutch pedal.
Tried adjusting the cable had some effect, wondered if there should be a return spring on the clutch housing lever. If so does anybody know where to fit it, Could there be another cause.

is it noisy when you press the pedal down?

No noise just vibration at the top of the pedal stroke.The cable seems to shake quite a bit, i see a hole in the clutch fork in the middle is this for a return spring. I have seen that there is a vibration damper fitted to the cable can these wear out,this is annoying niggly problem, feels shite.

The spring for pulling the fork back into position is inside the bell housing, is your clutch pedal returning to it`s up position? If it is i would say the spring is fine. try removing the cable and see if the fork is loose

Have u had a clutch done recently?

Could be clutch plate isn`t allign corretly

Are you sure the cable is sitting correctly in the following locations:
1. the bracket at the end of the clutch cable outer sheathing. it sits on the gear selector housing iirc.
2. the plastic part that clips into the clutch lever.

It sounds as though you may of adjusted some slack into it somewhere!

Thanks for the ideas, am inclined to think its an adjustment problem,will have a fiddle ,will also check if the fork is loose.cheers
ps any body know the correct clearance on the cable end to fork connection.

I dont have an exact measurement, but here is a picture of mine if it helps.

Also look at the clutch section (QD) of the service manual....available from this website via the tab above. It details how to adjust the cable correctly.
