Outer CV Joint

Can these be purchased seperately or do I need a new drive shaft?

My R/H CV joint is knackered - hub nut was seized and when it eventually came off took the threads with it. Any advice on how to get a new CV joint or cheap(ish) replacement greatfully received.

Is there an SE/S2 difference or is it the same part?

I know that they had the full driveshaft assembly (C100R0002F Driveshaft Assy RH Elan 89 on £127.50) in the last list i saw from the part sale.

The inboard shafts were also available (for about £85 IIRC) but not just the outer at that time

I'm sorry it doesn't actually answer your question, but they did have 29 of them left in stock!

Give SW Lotus a call. They had a bucketload at Donington a couple of years ago, going cheap (about £7 or so) . Maybe they have some left.

My hub nut came of as well.It was just a pity it still had part of the cv joint still attached to it.It upsets the steering when this happens and gives you white knuckle syndrome.I had an old drive shaft and I just used one of the cv joints from that.That might be another option if someone has one spare.Yours Gmacz

Thanks all for the advice, but I have done the Sledgehammer and Nut routine and got the drive-shaft from Lotus.... at £130 it's got to be worth it
