Pacific Blue Elan (OLD THREAD)

Postby gov » Fri 11.01.2019, 17:27

Going to view this car next week - Reg H153AFJ - wondered if this car is known by anyone ?

60k miles 3 previous owners - I'm told it has no crazing or accident repair anywhere and from the pics looks in excellent shape - had new S2 hood , seals including A pillars , webbing and new seatbelts in July 2012 from M100 hoods - chassis and wishbones cleaned and wax oiled at that time .

Owner sounds a bit elderly ( like me haha ) and very genuine .

Only negative for me is it's not red and doesn't have the all leather seats although the interior looks as good as the exterior and sounds a real find.

was going to view last week but was sold and advert taken off AT but sale has fallen through - owner says he will not readvertise it now until the spring ( currently under SORN ) but I can still go and view.

Thoughts ?

Don’t know it, but nothing you’ve said would put me off. It sounds well worth a look. Leather seats are not a big “must have”. Half-leather are better at stopping your bum sliding about!

Oh, and mine is Pacific Blue!

A lot of red ones seem to peel and fade so I wouldn't worry about it. That blue is a nice colour. No harm in looking !

The number plate springs to mind as a press release car or something like that .

Good spot Clemo :smt023

Can't be many of this quality on the IoW. Gov could always get it red wrapped. And it's halfway there with the red stripe leather

Well,I see I have made it onto the LEC forum. That's my Pacific Blue M100.
Thanks for the kind words gov,yes I am a bit elderly ( 74 a few days ago ) but still hanging in there.
Not sure at the moment if I am going to sell it,keep it and use it or put it into storage for one of the children/grandchildren.
If this dry, mild weather continues it will come out of winter hibernation and be back on the road again whilst I ponder it's future.
Still not sure why it didn't sell,I don't think I overpriced it at 7.5K maybe I did.
Happy New Year to all.

Then you can sell it to me as I will have much bigger garages and storage spaces ;-)
