As in not green roof but could well have been jet washed hence the puddles in the footwell.

They are absolutely stunning in black when washed and polished but a pig to keep clean. I know, I've got one that has won a couple of awards at car shows. But the minute you go down a muddy track....

Seats aren't OEM but suit it, particularly in that colour leather. I think they could be from a Porker or Honda S2000 ??

It has been on the market (Pissedonheads) for quite a while (all summer I think) so plenty of room for negotiation this time of the year. On Pissedonheads it was advertised as "nomal aspiration" ie NA but the photos clearly show a shiny turbo

It was on the Lotus Elan M100 owners and enthusiasts facebook site a while ago. Guy had bought a Cobra replica so was selling the black Elan, seats apparently from a Daihatsu Copen on Lotus runners.

Thought it had sold as the guy who owned it was in Manchester area so it could be left from his trade in for the Cobra or maybe not had apparently had 8K offered part ex but I think was looking for more although like I said thought it had sold but who knows.

Got my eyes on this one. MOT history suggests it's been well looked after. Long way from me unfortunately. :(

Unfortunately, Oscar, the good Elans always seem to be a long way from where you live - mine was on the Isle of Man :? Get as much information and as many photos from the vendor as you can before travelling, and you may also find that a forum member more local to the car would be happy to go and look at it for you as a first step.

It is worth travelling for a good car!

Good luck with the search

Like I said before the guy who owned it was on the M100 face book site and it would seem he traded it in for a Cobra replica mid October had been offered £8k trade in and was looking for that or thereabouts when selling it private, looks a nice car he has done some work to it, think he only had it for a year.

Well worth travelling for the right one, mine was Jamie's old car so had to go up to Rosyth for mine but easy on the train and great 200 mile drive back in the depths of Winter.

Thanks folks. Happy to travel for the right car. Just sent a lovely long list of questions to the vendor so hopefully will hear positive things shortly.

This one seems to be doing the rounds. Seen it mentioned on here with overheating issues. Anybody know more about it?

Not quite on Ebay but there are a couple on the Lotus Elan M100 Owners & Enthusiasts face book site, two blue ones one in Northampton and one in Plymouth. The Northampton one looks like it has had a lot of money spent over its time and is from memory around £8800 the other (Plymouth) bit cheaper at just under £5k. Just thought both a lot closer than the one in Wetherby.

I think I'll skip that one!
Another eBay listing from a Lotus main dealer. Looks great, but £10k for a Cat D repair?!

I thought so too. Been owned by one of the guys at the Lotus centre so very well looked after. They've taken a deposit on it now though.
