She is in your neck of the woods Geoff. I think I might leave the saggy roof and soggy bottoms to you

By soggy bottom, do you mean the carpets, and hence may be rot in the footwells?

Yes. I think it is mentioned in the advert that the seals are poor. From the lack of use I would expect it has been sitting on the driveway for a vast proportion if its time

Its just up the road from you, so go and have a look if interested.

So whats the collective wisdom here to turn it into a daily driver?

New roof - £?
new seals - £?
Fluid change - £?
Cam belt? - £?
Rear Wishbones? - £?
Welding for front jacking points - £?
Overhaul brakes? - £?

and live with the cosmetics for a while

I confess I'd quite like a blue one ;)

Looks like a carport rather than just on the drive. The roof looks pretty good for an original? S/E roof, looks like only the elastic has perished.

MoT history looks OK - Where does it say about the Wishbones? Or the jacking points needing doing?

I'd say the aparant cost to turn into a daily driver is close to zero. With some regular and ongoing maintenance (which are running costs) offset by 24k engine and some good tyres, the wheel looks original and mint.

The sagging roof actually looks like one of the cross bars has come loose, which I think is fixed by just replacing some elastic straps; not the whole roof fabric.
I think like everything, the final cost will depend on who is doing the labor, and if you are trying to repair, replace, or upgrade anything (brakes for example).
Whole new roof and roof seals is like 1-1.5k pounds installed, or you could try to replace the elastic yourself and sikaflex gaps in the seals for ~£100. I'm currently doing almost all of those jobs and parts for Fluids, Cam belt, and Brakes has been less than $400.
Plus you can always offset your costs by selling the little toy car in the dash. ;)
I love the blue too. I hope somebody pulls the trigger and updates us here :)

I would also say roof looks OK and, as Simon has pointed out the sagginess will be due to the elastic straps being knackered. Or something like the rear horizontal bar has come adrift as TH suggested. Can't make up my mind if drivers seat is damp/wet/mildewed or it is just a poor photo. Shutlines on FNS bonnet/ headlight pod look strange but it could be bonnet not shut properly or a poor photo again. It has a big boys exhaust. Looks like a Peco/Cybox or, even better, maybe a Piper ?

Yes up to £1.5k for a fitted soft top, but that one looks pretty good - it doesn't even have the holes from the frame. Elastic, rivets and sealant no more than £30 quid.

Is it blue or black. Looks black to me but I have seen SE's with blue rag tops.

Bit of lacquer peel (minor) on drivers door by latch. Check out for any more on rest of car

Looks like Anna keeps the battery connected to a battery conditioner

Are there any photos of the engine bay - I can only sed the ones El Geoffos posted as I don't do that FB nonsense

Rambo,

Headlight pod is not adjusted correctly needs another washer! The seat photo has a reflection of the pebbledashed wall on the window.

 I thought the seat looked odd. Sorry, I'm looking at photos in really bright sunlight so things look a bit of a funny colour. Either that or I should've gone with Dom Cummings to Specsavers
