I’m the new keeper of the Medina S2 and couldn’t be happier to be back in M100 ownership, the car is in great condition and drives really well with a very nice comprehensive history file. No doubt I will find a few jobs to do but in fairness there are no signs of repair and everything works as it should. I will be getting the rear bumper painted due to a few scratches but that will do for the cosmetics. The underside is solid but will get a refresh.

I always end up missing a M100 in my life so when the Mini’s went the hunt began, I know this car has some history on here but I’m really pleased with the it, the condition is excellent.
I have renewed the hood webbing today which was one of the only real faults other than some scratches on the rear bumper which will be sorted at some point. I have been using it daily for work without any issues. I would love to have kept IB10 but it’s gone to a good home and been clocking up the miles which is good.

Not used much over a period of 6 or 7 years though. What a pity.

Hmmm, an S2 with the wrong wheels means that someone has either curbed/trashed the originals, or asset-stripped the vehicle at some stage.....

Advert mentions PNM rear brakes, but front callipers are OE.... any future purchaser needs to know that a change of PNM fronts will mean getting the right ones, or getting different wheels, and not just asking for "S2 callipers/disks".

I'm always wary of any car that is said to have 68K miles, but has needed a new clutch and an engine rebuild.

As #418, it followed Smiffys car down the production line, but isn't on the S2 database. MOT history shows 10K miles in 16 years, with nowt too much to worry about on the advisories/failures during that time.

With the sellers admission that it could do with a repaint, it may be an honest way into Elan ownership for a car to use - but by the time you've spent good money on the paint, it may or may not be a real bargain (especially as you'd probably want to change the wheels!).

The no. plate looks very familiar to me. And also the offset S2 badge on the rear. I think it was about £7k in July/Aug last year.......

It was on my list of ones to look at, but the Elan I bought from Geoff D was too lovely to pass up after I saw/drove it. But yeah, I'm of the mindset that a great example with a solid history that's been carefully looked after will be less of a headache and walletache in the long run than a cheap car that needs work.

My only "regret" is that I still find the blue ones absolutely stunning - mine is BRG, and while pretty, part of me wishes it was red, yellow, or blue. So if anybody has a well-maintained example in any of the aforementioned colours and wants a BRG instead, let me know!

Ah, yes - good point about the car.... I should have looked more at the registration number than at the Ltd Number!

I stand by the point about the wheels lowering the desirability/value (originality), but I'll lose the bit about it needing a repaint right now.... last time I saw it, it was presentable, but maybe not concourse....

From the engine ad, it looks like the car is being broken for parts at this point:

The photos are of the rebuild and the in situe photo is as it is now having been driven 1,000 miles in the car.

I am breaking the car now.

I guess that's one more Elan on its way to the Garage in the Sky

The car has been up for sale separately but with SE wheels. It wasn't yesterday but I just checked and it is back in his other items for sale.

Its one of Phil's cars ? that would put it in a positive light for a potential buyer for sure . What a shame he is breaking it , Seems way to good for that . Are 6K cars now worth more in parts ... Bad news if they are .
