For anyone interested, the Index number is M533KJT (info from the S2 database)...... and a check of the MOT history shows that it has basically been nowhere in the past 15 years, and has had a couple of MOT issues associated with a car left undriven, but now sorted.

Could be a nice buy for someone who is prepared to spend a bit of time and/or money for the things which may not have fared well from inactivity..... but the cambelt etc is said to be new.

I sell 15000 cars a year and hide the number plate, its called fraud prevention and complying with Plod

I would be immediately wary about a car that I couldn't do the relevant checks on, but understand that people like to keep the details out of the advert for various reasons. Whilst I would hope that any seller who gets into a reasonable dialogue with a prospective purchaser would probably disclose the details anyway (if asked!), I don't think that anyone who puts the Limited Edition number can reasonably expect the details to remain hidden to those who can establish those things easily.

I am merely trying to simplify the establishment of some things at an early stage for anyone who may be actively looking via this forum.

Number plate covering was introduced by VCRAT and wed have continued this since then. This stopped people sitting on motorway bridges collecting reg numbers, applying for V5's and ringing vehicles.
Number plates are only visible to registered buyers with an account.

New to Lotus Elan central and looking to purchase my first Elan.

I was ideally looking to get a S2 but have not (yet) seen one that ticks the boxes.

I have seen today a SE advertised on eBay and Car & classic, does anyone know any more about this car or have any thoughts on it?

Doesn't Roger have gold go faster stripes, looks a bit like an Esprit (paint job). Though some would say its Allegro Bronze.

Very true Scott. I'm not a fan of stripes but it's part of the James Bond Lotus Ebola heritage so they're staying. Very 80's I know, but they go with my 70/80's hairdo

PS is there anywhere in Glesgae I can get stretchy beige slacks and an old mans' anorak ?
